Twenty years ago, in April 2006, we opened the doors to our self-catering log cabin and welcomed our very first guests.

From family holidays to quiet breaks for couples, Caban Tawel has become a tranquil place to unwind, relax and make lots of wonderful memories.  Every guest has become part of the story of Caban Tawel.

One of the things we love most about Caban Tawel is how naturally it sits within its environment.

For more than twenty years, guests enjoyed holidays in a static caravan here on our family farm. When the time came to replace the final caravan, we wanted to create something that felt far more connected to the landscape around it. Choosing a handcrafted log cabin allowed us to offer guests the same peaceful retreat, but in a way that blends beautifully with the woodland setting and reflects our love of nature.

Imported from Finland and built from solid timber, the cabin was designed with both comfort and longevity in mind. Full insulation in the roof, walls and floor, together with triple-glazed windows, helps create a cosy haven throughout the year - warm and welcoming in winter, yet cool and comfortable during the summer months. Its traditional Nordic design not only makes the cabin practical and sustainable, but also gives it a timeless character that sits perfectly within its natural surroundings.

Rather than shaping the landscape around the cabin, we’ve allowed nature to become part of the experience itself.  Nestled alongside native woodland, the log cabin blends beautifully into the scenery in every season.  Ivy climbs gently around the veranda posts, bluebells and wildflowers soften the edges where the woods meet the lawn, and in summer the sweet scent of honeysuckle drifts around the gate post to welcome our guests.

It’s this connection to nature that makes Caban Tawel feel so special.  Here, life slows down. Mornings begin with birdsong, evenings end beneath clear, starry Pembrokeshire skies, and days are spent enjoying the simple pleasures of the outdoors.

Although tucked away, Caban Tawel is perfectly placed for exploring all that Pembrokeshire has to offer.  From dramatic coastal walks and sandy beaches to picturesque villages and hidden woodland paths, there is always something nearby to discover before returning to the calm of the cabin.

For many guests, though, the cabin itself becomes the destination.  A cosy retreat where they can truly switch off, unwind and reconnect with nature.

As we celebrate 20 years of welcoming guests to Caban Tawel, we’re excited for the memories still to come.
